Perfect planning companion for all your adventures.

  2. Peter Murphy (verified owner)

    Fantastic product

  3. HAMISH BREBNER (verified owner)

This beautifully presented atlas is the start of the dreams, then the fine planning, culminating in the actual journey itself. Love the detail of these paper maps – well done T4A

  4. AnthonyB (verified owner)

Great detail and a fantastic planning tool. The country specific info is a great help and has saved time at border posts. The canvas cover is great additional and internal sleeves are perfect for keeping the Tracks4Afrika paper maps and travel documents all in one central space. Would not leave home without it!

  5. Pablo (verified owner)

Forget about all the other maps. THIS is the ultimate travel companion. Planning, adding it to the GPS path and then following progress while driving. Add to that the quality of the print, the paper and then a canvas cover, that makes it suitable for all purposes.

  6. Cargo0621 (verified owner)

This is a great set of maps of southern Africa for route planning. I can see that it has been well-researched and it is definitely well-made. The only thing that is preventing me from giving it 5 stars is the lack of latitude/longitude markings along the edges of the maps. I would find these useful as a cross-check during planning to what my GPS gives me and, in a pinch, I’d be able to use the maps in the field with only GPS coordinates.

  7. gupton@mweb.co.za (verified owner)

Recommended by a friend, for me a game changer. Good old paper maps, great info one view.

  8. Ryno Cloete (verified owner)

Donated my older Atlas to a friend and spoiled myself with the new version! Love the hard cover as well as the new Atlas Canvas Cover with pockets inside! Lot’s of trip planning ahead! Thanks for another brilliant product!

  9. Angela Key (verified owner)

A big thumbs up! This is an essential companion to any road trip in southern Africa. The canvas cover is good quality, but I expect our copy to get very dog-eared from use!! The travel tips and requirements for each country are up to date and indispensable. Fill up your jerry cans – you will be inspired! Thanks Tracks 4 Africa.

  10. Mike Holloway (verified owner)

Excellent product just done a road trip to the eastern cape and it helped us to get the most out of our trip

  11. Erna/Enrico Liebenberg (verified owner)

I saw this Atlas with a friend in Cape Town and very soon our current roadmaps/roadmap books looked very tired!!
I bought us one, as we travel across the subcontinent probably every 18months and have learnt that you cannot rely on a GPS alone, you HAVE TO HAVE a paper backup.
We cannot wait to use ours in real-life, since we bought another friend at Atlas as a gift, for their imminent (virgin) Maun/Sossusvlei tour.
I never realised what a difference a usable (but also larger and easier to read when you grow a little older) map book will make to our travelling.
Great job and great publication T4A!!!

  12. Willi von Borstel (verified owner)

Start with paper then bring in the tech!

This is a great way to get an overall view and orientate yourself before going into detail on the GPS, Google Maps, or whatever electronic wizardry is utilized. Enjoy the scale, distance/time indicator on the various roads, and handy bits of other related info supplied. Already found lots of little off-the-beaten-track roads to go and explore right here in our “backyard”.

Plus the cover is a sure way to keep it looking good well beyond its next update.

  13. Random Hedgehog (verified owner)

There is just something about paper maps that allow you to see the trip planning as a whole. The atlas is great for seeing this macro view. The detail is good and the links between the paper and the internet work well. I.e. the names in the Atlas are the same as the internet -this makes planning easier. Love the size, love the canvas cover as ir will be thrown around in the back od the 4×4. Great product, thanks.

  14. Edna Fick (verified owner)

We enjoy having a paper backup and this certainly more than meets that need, we are busy planning our next Snr Cit 4×4 trip with offroad caravans to do the 7 mountain passes and this is certainly assisting us with the planning. The cover keeps it in good condition and we are very happy with this purchase.

  15. fourie.barbara@gmail.com (verified owner)

I have wanted this atlas for a long time and am thrilled to finally have it! The hardcover and canvas cover make it easy to use and store.
The information is accurate and it is easy to plan a route before you set your route on the Garmin.
Ordering and delivery were so efficient. A beautiful book that I will treasure. Highly recommended for anyone travelling in Africa. Thank you Tracks4Africa

  16. Bruce Turner (verified owner)

It is a brilliant high quality product that I use all the time on my travels. I find the Atlas invaluable and use it often to find and do the less used routes. I have one problem with it though, and that is my friends keep stealing mine and I have to keep ordering replacements 🙂 🙂

    Kind Regards

The most authoritative atlas for travelling in Southern Africa & the ideal companion for use with the T4A GPS maps. A must for any intrepid traveller looking for information about the road network & general information on Southern Africa. Do not leave home without the Atlas.

  18. Gail Maytham (verified owner)

We have had the original Atlas for some years and loved it. We have a campsite in Limpopo and we would always carry it down when going to chat to foreign (and even local) travellers – so many of whom don’t have paper maps! A couple of weeks ago we were busy giving travel ideas to a family from the Netherlands, pouring over the atlas, and they were so impressed with it, but weren’t in a position to order and have one delivered as they had no fixed plan of where they would be when. So we sold them ours. They were delighted!

We immediately ordered a new one – the 2nd edition. Once again, we were very impressed with the swift efficient service. We love the new design – the hard cover is a huge improvement and the canvass cover is excellent. Thank you Tracks4Africa! Highly recommended product!

  19. TRIDENTZN (verified owner)

This is really a Treasured Book in my collection. Hard Cover and better page quality.
If you have the Khaki Cover like I do, add this to your collection.

I can spend hours looking over the various journeys that I had done in the past

  21. Marius Odendaal (verified owner)

This is a great atlas and very beautiful made. I will be using it to compliment the GPS.

I would have liked a 1:500 000 scale of Namibia as well. What is chance of getting an add-on for Namibia?

The ordering and delivery were very professional and I am very happy with my purchase. This is real value for money.

    • Janine Reyneke

      Hi Marius

Thanks for your positive feedback! We don’t have a paper map for Namibia available at that scale – but we will keep it in mind for the future! regards, Janine

  42. Jan Smit (verified owner)

Lovely atlas, product exceeded my expectations

  43. Phil Ridgwell (verified owner)

I have used the 2017 edition for many years in conjunction with the Garmin T4A maps. I like to have a paper map with me always. The old edition had an issue with the East coast and i found the lack of overlaps hard to use (especially page 82, when moving to P55, 61, 65 and/or 71). The soft cover on the old one was also hard to use in a car when on my lap and the dashbaord, and usually the atlas folded and fell out of the canvas cover.
The NEW ATLAS is fantastic and addresses/fixes all of these issues, better layout, bigger scale, more sensible page moves and a good overlap between pages. The hard atlas cover fits into the new canvas outer so the map cannot fold, or fall out when propped up on the dashboard.
A great atlas, not just for southern Africa, but even areas you know well in south Africa, at a good price and well worth the wait to get it.
i still will use the T4A Garmin maps, but enjoy the new Atlas in combination with them.

  44. Harry Gazendam (verified owner)

Excellent atlas, quality printing and materials……highly recommended.

  45. Dirk Brinkman (verified owner)

I used the 1st edition very often on my travels through Southern Africa. I am impressed with the improvements the new 2nd edition offers. Delivery was fast and efficient, well done T4A.

  46. Roger Kassner (verified owner)

A source of great detail and an overlanders best friend for planning. Love the new edition, thank you.

  47. Piet Swart (verified owner)

One of my friends have the previous edition and on our last tour in October 2021 we had to use the Atlas very often. From that experience I also wanted one. When I received the new Edition with all the extras such as a cover etc. I was amazed with the good quality it’s made and had already used it to plan my next trip to Namibia. Thanks T4a for a good quality item you’ve put together for our travelers.

  48. Peet Burger (verified owner)

After a long wait I received the Atlas delivered on time as promised. A must have for planning and traveling in remote areas. Money well spent without regret. Will be on my way soon with my Atlas as companion.
